Developed by PATAZ Animation for real-world production, Auto-Hide Overlays is a workflow enhancement tool designed to declutter your 3D viewport by automatically hiding distracting viewport overlays during active transformations (Move, Rotate, Scale) and animation playback, it allows you to focus purely on the form, silhouette, and motion of your models.

Key Features

Transform Integration: Automatically hides overlays the moment you press G, R, or S. Your previous overlay settings are perfectly restored as soon as you confirm or cancel the transformation.

Playback Clarity: Keep your viewport clean while reviewing animations. The tool can automatically toggle overlays off when you hit play and back on when you stop.

Flexible Strategies:

• Hide All: A global toggle to clear the entire viewport.
• Custom Selectivity: Choose exactly which elements disappear. You can keep your reference images visible while hiding bones, wireframes, relationship lines, grids, or the 3D cursor.
• Native Feel: Integrated directly into the Viewport Overlays popover menu for easy access and configuration.

How to Use

• Open the Overlays popover in the top-right of the 3D Viewport.
• Locate the Auto Hide Properties section at the bottom.
• Under the Transform or Playback sections, enable your desired toggles:
• Hide Overlays
• Hide Sidebar/Toolbar
• Hide Header
