This dalek is a bit sad after a heavy landing and then getting squashed.
The physical simulation was done outside of Blender (in a mix of proprietary software).
The model is inherently high poly as a pre-requisite of the simulation. The baseline initial state was geometrically based on Benjee10's nice 1963 Dalek here: https://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/53131
I made some minor tweaks against dalek photos found online, but there are still some inaccuracies.
